Acquisition of SuperStroke grips, New Presence on the PGA TOUR and Dedication to Innovative Designs is Fueling the 36-year old company

When a professional golfer does well with a golf club on national television, golfing aficionados take notice. That was the case when KJ Choi carded a final round of 2-under-par 69 and finished in third place at the Northern Trust Open using a jumbo SuperStroke Putter Grip. The red and black Proline grip received a hefty amount of exposure on the greens of Riviera Country Club.

Choi has won three PGA Tour events with the SuperStroke grip. He started out the 2009 season with a T15th and 12th place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Championship and Sony Open, where he finished 9th in putting and 13th in putts per round, respectively. He has now earned $622,308 in this season using the jumbo sized grip. All in all, over 40 professionals on the PGA TOUR, Nationwide Tour, Champions Tour, and European Tour have trusted the SuperStroke to help their putting.

"It helps me to have my arms closely fit to my body," said Choi. "It takes the wrist action out so every putt feels more comfortable."

The 20th ranked player in the world added that reduced hand pressure, and inhibits a breakdown of the wrists; a result of the SuperStroke's large diameter. The large surface area of helps prevent pulled or pushed putts. KJ is not the only one helping his game through the new technology. Just this week, PGA Tour player Matt Bettencourt carded a 6-under 65 at Le Triomphe Country Club and tied for third place at the Nationwide Tour Chitimacha Louisiana Open, the first U.S. Nationwide event of the season.

Bettencourt started using an oversized jumbo the grip last season on the Nationwide Tour and it has made all the difference in the world. Matt was ranked 90th on the money list when he switched to the Super Stroke Grip and went on to finish the year with two victories and 3 Top 10 finishes. His victory at the Nationwide Tour Championship propelled him to end the year #1 on the final official money list.

"I switched to the SuperStroke Grip 13 weeks ago," said Bettencourt after his victory at the 2008 Nationwide Tour Championship." I went from around 150 to the top 50 in putting. It's made all the difference in the world for me. It's taken my hands out of it. I got really back and forth with the belly putter. But with this SuperStroke Grip, it's been fantastic. It really changed my game."

The large surface area of SuperStroke brings more of the grip into contact with the hands, inhibiting breakdown of the hands and wrists. The Super Stroke's size encourages use of a "soft hands" technique and ensures a smooth and fluid putting stroke. The SuperStroke installs quickly and easily to any putter. Scientific tests have shown that the SuperStroke requires up to 32% less grip tension and represents a significant improvement over conventional putter grips.

Tiger Shark Golf, a Michigan-based club manufacturer, acquired SuperStroke in January, making them the predominant oversized putter grip company in the industry. Their Legendary Jumbo putter grips have sold more than 1 million putter grips since they first launched the jumbo grip to the golf market. With the distinction of being the leader in the oversized grip market, Tiger Shark has manufactured 20 new models of putters between their Great White and GreenSpeed putter lines. The company's new tagline, The New Innovators of Putting Technology™, shows they are using their position as the top jumbo putter grip company to become a major force in the putter market.
