SuperStroke Grips Played by a Former Major Champion and a Former World #1

April 22, 2011

SuperStroke continued its success on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour this week, helping a former Major winner, a former world #1 and a 2-time PGA Tour winner on the greens.

Former British Open champion and former world #1 switched to a SuperStroke UltraSlim and finished T2 in birdies for the week (17) at the Valero Texas Open.  He also ranked in the Top 10 in Putts per GIR for the event.

Another player and 2-time PGA tour winner switched to the SuperStroke UltraSlim for the first time this week in San Antonio.  This player, who shot a 59 at the John Deer Classic in 2010, averaged 27 putts per round, more than 2 putts per round better than his current season average.  The change to the UltraSlim also helped him use only 27 Putts per Round, T9 for the event.

Both of these players relied on the new UltraSlim putter grip, recently released at the PGA Show.  This grip further expanded SuperStroke’s line of patented non-taper grips, providing a grip for every golfer.  This grip, only 1” in diameter and weighing 65 grams, is quickly becoming the hottest grip available in the SuperStroke family.

On the Champions Tour, a former British Open winner earned another Top 20 finish this week at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am.  This 13-time winner ended the week T7 in Putts per Round using the SuperStroke Fatso grip.  The Fatso, 1.67” in diameter and weighing only 85 grams, has been a constant in this player’s bag due to the benefits of the SuperStroke grip technology.  So far this season, this player has 104 total one-putts in 15 rounds, an average just under 7 per round.

In the last 24 months alone, 85 Tour Professionals have now put SuperStroke grips in play, further proving why it is the #1 jumbo putter grip on tour.  The growing success is not only gaining momentum on the PGA and Champions Tours but also on the Nationwide, LPGA and Asian Tours.
